I’ve been playing video games since the PSX and always thought “I really want to capture that moment!” or “my buddy get a crack from this”. And I couldn’t do it since hardware and gaming in general hasn’t come far enough.

However that all changed! It started for me by giving the Grove Street homies a camera so CJ can pose, to Bungie’s impressive theater mode that allowed to take screen caps (even if it was in a separate mode). However, a generation later we started getting in game (!!!) photo modes! From Horizon Zero Dawn, Jedi Fallen order and such, the dream was finally realized!

However, there’s always room for improvement and this is where the current generation comes in. Seeing Death Stranding 2’s and Stellar Blade’s photo mode are totally different beasts that I hope will become the rule rather than the exception.
