Why do the colors look washed out?

Why do I see the colors washed out? A question I've been asking myself for a month since I got ps 5.I kept looking for solutions on the net but I didn't find anything concrete and something that could help me. I went into the settings and boosted the contrast but nothing.I can't use hdr because of my monitor. I don't know how to make the contrast higher in the monitor if you ask me, and still I walked around but it's still washed out.I keep looking at other players on yt and they have the contrast as if your eyes are burning. Well, I don't really want it that way, but you get the idea
