I've been using Playnite for years by now, but the recent update broke the app. I updated last night and booted the app now, opened without issue, stayed fine for a minute then closed itself and terminated itself on taskmanager. I couldn't use the shortcut anymore since it said that "Playnite.DesktopApp no longer existed".

So I check the main folder and find that almost all of the .exes (except for Playnite.FulscreenApp and unins000) are now .pdb files. How do I fix this? Is this intended? How can I run Playnite again?

EDIT: Tried to run Playnite.FullscreenApp to see what happened, and the file deleted itself. Already scanne for viruses and the like, to no avail. Playnite is the only place where this behaviour happens.
