Break in Plastic Playing Cards (KEM COPAG ROYAL)

I use them to play rummy, gin, and spades on a feltless table. I can’t add felt or buy a poker table where we play.
Any ideas on how to slow down the cards? And help them fan out better when spreading cards? The tables are at a hookah lounge and have granite (or maybe faux granite) tops.
