I dealt with two griefers and feel rather clever.
Post Body

TL;DR I destroyed part of my own structure to dunk two griefers into a shark tank.

I just wanted to share this since I did not record it. I play on an official No-Tame PvP server and roleplay a neutral, pacifist trader. I could explain at length why I play this way and how I've gotten it to work, but I'll save that for another post. Suffice to say it requires an entirely different set of skills than traditional PvP.

I do my trading on a raft structure that looks reminiscent of a trading ship from the age of sail. While my approach to being a trader has been met with far better reception than one would expect, I certainly encounter groups that only exist to cause grief.

One such group of two were clearly the kind of people that "Just want to watch the world burn". While I was ashore, they knocked me out with clubs, infected me with swamp fever, and dropped all of my inventory to let it despawn, didn't even take anything of value for themselves. They didn't kill me, though, and didn't break into my ship.

Once I was back up, I quickly ran back to the ship and departed. After a relatively short time, I noticed that they were not done with me, and were in fact hiding on the top deck of the ship, prone and most likely waiting for me to make a trade rendezvous and ambush us or to wait for me to visit one of my storage caches in order to rob it.

I played it off like I didn't notice them, making trade negotiations in global chat and sailing around, and they sat still, waiting. I noticed that they were both sitting on a portion of the deck that extended over the water just behind the raft, so I made a plan.

I found a megalodon swimming near the surface and stopped above it. I stood up from the raft controls and in quick succession demolished the floor behind me, then the ceiling above it which they were laying on. They fell through the hole I had created and were immediately set upon by the shark as I sailed off with a thrill of victory.

After several failed attempts at warding off raiders in the past, it felt good to have this one work so beautifully. I just feel rather clever and wanted to share :)
