Random police check
Post Body

So I got random police check twice today in 5th avenue, it's my second week in playa del carmen, is this normal for a random id check and getting patted down for drugs? When they asked me if they could search for drugs on me which I said I don't have any drugs and I asked if I can say no and they just repeated the same thing. I don't speak Spanish. I complied to the search. Any help on dealing with these situations is appreciated.

Honestly the cabs shake me down when I’m dressed like a fucking tourist. Laundry day last week I was in a bikini top - it was desperate - and I just about snapped because all day ppl were shaking me down for money and I knew I was being ripped off. It just is what it is. You might even just not be dressed for the heat. Like if I wear leggings and cover my body more I generally get treated like a local, they can tell when you’re maladapted to the weather and you become a target. Also whenever one of my gfs is out with a man the police shake him down for bribes. My friends bf and his friend drove her and 3 friends to a cenote and on the way back the police searched everything hoping to find coke but we’re too old to get down like that.
