Drawing painting with markers on plasti dip?

Hi I have used plasti dip on my car and it's hold for the past 9 years.

My question. I have a computer case for my niece and want to draw an anime character that she likes but as she grows I want her to be able to take it out so I want to plasti dip the front and be a base to the drawing and when done add some glossifier. I have seen that it's recommended to use water based markers for it and I'm OK with that, but can I use permanent markers for line work?
