so i have a kayak which appears to be made from HDPE. it has a hole and crack in each end from rubbing on rocks at the shore. I have cut a piece of a clean 5 gallon HDPE bucket to use as a patch over the crack which i think will be a good way to fix and also reinforce this area that takes a bit of abuse. I have seen a few conversations about adhering HDPE to HDPE and seen various people suggest a range of adhesives that have had mixed results for them. My plan is to scuff both pieces, apply a 2 part plastic adhesive (likely jb-weld for plastic) to both sides and then press into place firmly until it sets. Anyone think this will or will not work? Any better suggestions to join the pieces? thanks.
