RIG 300 Pro HC
Post Body

So, I've had the RIG 4VR for years and I love them. The ear cups were starting to peel a little, still going strong tho, and I wanted to buy a new set. Wasn't sure what to get, but knew I liked my current pair so I bought the 300 Pro HC without any research.

First of all, these aren't nearly as comfortable. The padding for your head is directly connected to the headband, whereas I'm used to them being separate. Also, somehow the ear cups don't feel quite as comfortable? Possibly because they need to break in, but also felt like they were more on my ears than over them. The fact that the atmos does not work on PS5 was also a sore point.

And lastly, the microphone. It isn't nearly as long as the one on the 4VR, and doesn't pick up my voice unless I shove it into my mouth. So, kind of impossible to use. Even when I went into the calibration, no matter how loud I spoke with it in its normal position, it could not pick up my voice. I did better to just unplug them and use the PS5 controller microphone to speak with.

I am very disappointed by this headset. I had such a great experience with my last set that I really wanted to continue to use the same company's product going forward. It seems like I would need to wait for some successor to my current pair, or just go buy another of the same set. But if anyone does have a recommendation for a wired over-ear set that works as well as the 4VR, I would appreciate it. I'm even considering wireless sets at this point, as I could use it with my Smart TV and if it had atmos that would give me the ability to use that late at night when I can't use my speakers.

Thanks in advance
