New to gardening plz help

So me and my girlfriend just got an aloe plant and at first it was looking real green but now it’s turning slightly brown, we’ve been watering it then letting the soil dry out then repeating and have it in the sun all day, is there anything we can do to get that green color back (additional info it’s consistently been on the hundreds where I live and we just moved it from a smaller pot to the one in the picture)
