Old Formats

Hello everyone. So A friend of mine and I would like to start playing older formats (like past expanded old) and record our matches and put them on my teams Youtube page. I was wondering if anyone could point me towards resources for rules and gameplay. I know there were some formats where the person going first could attack, and even one where the first turn player couldnt play any trainers, I just dont know that formats those rules were used in. Any help would be appreciated.
