I’ve recently arrived in Blairsville from Fairmont, WV, and am currently saddled with a 2003 Legacy L SE sedan that has been diagnosed with a burnt valve. It has about 170k miles on it. Other than the engine, it is basically sound. The original garage that diagnosed the problem could not do the repairs, and suggested, “run it till it dies.” Lack of funds at the time had me going that route.
But now that I’ve got a piggy bank for a replacement car growing and growing, I’m inclined to get a second opinion. I want to go to a Subaru mechanic and get a real estimate on what it would take to get my car healthy again.
So with me in Blairsville, where should I start looking for a new Subaru mechanic?
