Do unions drug test? I’m curious if a company or the union will warn me before they do? I recently got a job offer from a company that requires a pipefitters union membership. I accepted the offer and signed a contract. In the job offer for the company there is no mention of a drug test at all but I also know it’s a huge corporation and those types of companies typically require a test. When looking over the initial application for the union there’s nothing in it about a drug test but I’ve heard in the past that unions require one. I only smoke marijuana, I don’t drink alcohol or even take Tylenol. I stopped smoking just in case the day i signed the employment offer but I’m worried there won’t be enough time for thc to leave my system by the time my employment starts.
Any experience or advice with this would be greatly appreciated, would it be a urine test or saliva? This job would potentially set my family up for years to come and is extremely important to me. Thank you
