Gusto ko lang ishare na I'm really happy right now and hopefully maka inspire lalo na sa mga nagreresidency or sa mga nagbabalak pumasok.
I graduated last December from Anesthesia residency in a public hospital. I'm just your average Jane doe and tbh I felt like I'm the least favorite of my batch with the M&Ms and RITE performances. I actually FAILED all my RITE exams even if I did study (but to be honest I just read ppts and reviewers before since we don't have much time during residency). I'm not even qualified to take the Written Basics last December together with my batchmates. I was scared that I'll be delayed due to my poor RITE performance but good thing the criteria for diplomate exams was to finish all 3 RITE irregardless pass or fail.
So fast forward after graduation, I start reading Barash all clinicals topics (January to February) and reviewers with rationale (March to April). I'm not really 100% studying since I need income to contribute money at home and to pay for other things (written clinical exam 5k, notary and clearances 5k, monthly car loan 15k, etc etc). I worked as GP EROD from Jan to March and have some Anesthesia sideline with consultants to where I have moonlight with. I even entered being a financial advisor (cost 6k total for exams and registration) for additional income. Tbh in the real world, being a 1st Gen doctor, an only child, with both unemployed senior parents is TOUGH. I'm just glad they're both understanding.
But just few hours ago, I'm so happy that I passed. For the 1st time in my residency years I PASSED! I can't believe it because the exam was really hard. It was mostly base on our experience during residency and of course the theories we learned along the way.
So to all who are still in residency.. If you failed now, it is not actually the end. It's just the beginning so don't give up. We'll pray to each everyone of us here to continue to our best to the things that we love and every good thing will follow. 😊🙌🙏
