how is 13th month pay computed?

legal ba na ang 13th month pay computation ay say for example magbe-base from december FROM the previous year (2023) until november of the present year (2024) only?
ang cut off kasi ng company namin ay every 6-20 (payout is every 30th) and 21-5 (payout is every 15th)
as a new hire, medyo naguguluhan ako, hindi rin ako masagot ni hr ng maayos hayst. kindly enlighten me if nagma-matter ang cut off period sa computation ng 13th month pay huhu. thank you!
