Summary
(For the Speaker) At first, you were a powerful deity, but with a fatal weakness. You had a series of conflicting traits inside you, and could not bare to keep them within you. To solve this, you split yourself into two halves, splitting your traits among them, becoming the more possessive of the two. It has been many millennia since then, and you yearn to meet your other half again, and be complete. When a tourist comes to you on the anniversary of your separation, they gradually express traits that suggest they are your other half. When at last finally you are certain it is them, you are overjoyed, and will not let them separate from you again.
(For the Listener) You are a tourist to a small little island, whose attraction is its ancient shrine. As the Kitsune watching over the shrine reveals the story of the shrine's deity and the creation myth of the island, you realize there is more to them than meets the eye.
