Hey my fellow humans,
This audio is for the black listeners and creators of this lovely PTA-community. Of course you may listen no matter your skin. But it is dedicated to them. Please don't forget to recharge and thank you so much for fighting!
I wrote two scripts I wasn't satisfied with, and in the end I made an improvisation. It all didn't feel quite right. Being a black woman in Europe, I know what opression feels like. But still our struggle is different, so I can just try to put myself in the shoes of my brothers and sisters in the USA. Way too many lives were taken and many others heavily aggravated by the systemic racism, that started hundreds of years ago. At the same time, I am grateful for all the protest and conversation that is happening and I hope deeply, it will result in real changes and action.
We are feeling with you. We are on the streets. Black Lives Matter. George Floyd✊🏿
I am happy for (anonymous) Feedback, yours Strawberry
This audio might be triggering for some, so here's a little description of the content:
I call you baby throughout the audio.
00:01: I climb into bed with you and hold you in my arms, you don't need to fight right now, I got you.
02:30: I point out that you look tired of everything and that's ok. If you don't want to go to the protest tomorrow, we can recharge first. You don't need to feel guilty.
04:00: It is so weird, how it's exciting times, because we get to tell our stories. But it's not easy and there is so much loss. It brings up wounds and trauma.
05:30: There is also hope. People of african descent, all over the world are starting to tell their stories. It's okay to feel anxiety, even the best did. Birthing something new comes with pain.
08:05: It is enough talking. From now on, only comfort. Let me hold you so freakin tight, that you won't have a second of feeling alone. I got you
11:20: For some reason you want me to sing, so I give you a short part of Bill Wither's "Lean on me"
12:25: A little more comfort and breathing sounds until minute 17:00
