Suitable for listeners of any gender. No specific relationship is implied in this audio. This audio doesn't contain any fireworks sounds directly, though it does involve us watching another video (hosted externally) with fireworks.
This audio is the longer version of "It's Just The Fireworks" where we also watch a video of the 2018 Sydney New Years Eve fireworks display together (found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eIEB9vdpgpQ)..) I give you a countdown of when to start watching it with me (at 4:08 minutes), and the audio contains 12 minutes or so of my reactions to the fireworks. Please watch it with me, it'll be weird otherwise.
With the 4th of July upon us, I figured I'd make an audio I've been wanting to make for a while. A lot of people are sensitive to fireworks, particularly when they're heard and not seen, so I wanted to make a comfort audio to help reassure you and make you feel safer.Â
In this audio our relationship is non-specific. I check in on you and notice you're uncomfortable and startled by the fireworks. I empathise with you and talk a little about how it's inconsiderate and you deserve better. I remind you that you're safe and nothing's wrong, they're just fireworks and we're okay.Â
I tell you that one thing I like to do when I'm overwhelmed by fireworks noises is to watch a video of fireworks so I can enjoy them on my terms instead of being startled. I tell you about how Australia has some of the world's best fireworks displays and ask if you'd like to watch one with me. We settle down to watch the 2018 NYE fireworks together, and this audio contains my live reactions to that video.
Once it finishes up, I reflect that fireworks can be nice too, and thank you for sharing some of my culture. Then I suggest we listen to some music or watch a movie to drown out the noise. We'll get through this together.
If you enjoyed this audio, I'd love for you to let me know. And if you want to hear more of my audios, you can find them organised on my subreddit /r/msa_andeh.
