Hi! I did a little experiment and tried writing a script along with a piece of music that ties into it.The idea is for the VA to say certain lines at certain points in the music, tying in with what's happening.
Pardon any wonky bits in the music, I'm an amateur and there's only so much I can wrangle out of samples.
Synopsis (Listener perspective): You wanted to learn more about music theory, so you signed up for a music composition course at the local community college, but it turns out the professor is an old flame of yours. You meet them in their office for advice on a composition project, but it soon becomes clear that the kind of harmony they want to discuss isn't just the musical kind.
For the music file download, check the link in the script.
Word count: 1137 words including directions
Inclusivity notes: No physical descriptions of speaker or listener.
Sound Effects and Improv: The original music is essential to the script. All non-music sound effects optional, but I think they're helpful to set the scene.A bit of improv or rephrasing to help your reading feel more natural to you is welcome, but I would prefer if you keep the wording in the section where the music plays as close to the original as possible.
Copyright/Disclaimer: This script is written by someone over 18 years of age, for consumption by people over 18 years of age, and all characters in the script are consenting adults over 18 years of age. All rights to this script are reserved by the author, with the exception that rights are granted to record the script and freely post it as long as the person who makes the recording doesn't charge money for access to it.
