Summary

You wake up one morning in a strange bed in a room you've never been in before. You don't remember how you got there or who it belongs to. Suddenly, a beautiful woman comes and greets you. She claims to be your wife, but you've never met her before and are really suspicious. Calmly and slowly, she starts talking about the two of you and helps you remember who she is and how much she means to you.

Hi everyone! Hope you are all doing well. If the plot of this script sounds familiar, there's a good reason for it.

A few nights ago, I was having trouble falling asleep. Because of that, I decided to turn on the TV and watch something to hopefully fall asleep to. Ended up picking "50 First Dates" and watched the whole thing from beginning to end. It's been a while since I've seen it last so I had forgotten most of it. But I still ended up liking it. I think it's one of Adam Sandler's better films.

Anyways, that movie had me thinking how difficult that situation must be: to be with someone who can't remember anything and has to be reminded every day about yesterday. And how much dedication, patience, and love it must take to make that work. At first, I thought it was unbelievable. Then I remembered all the patients we've seen at work who have partners that depend on them because of some disability. And although it's difficult, they've found a way to make it work; sometimes for a really long time.

That ended up being the inspiration for this script. Although it makes a couple of references to that film, I think it's different enough to be it's own story. If you are interested, feel free to check it out and if you have any feedback (positive or negative), please let me know. Thanks!
