I am currently a regular, secondary level school teacher and it sucks the life out of me. I am miserable. I 0/10 recommend anyone to come into the field with the way children are nowadays (not all, but it only takes a couple to really ruin the class). But I love to teach and I love pilates! I really love the mental escape, the challenge on my body and of course seeing little goals become more reachable.
Only thing is, I myself am not even the best at pilates, I still struggle in 1.5 level classes and am not the most in shape though I have been trying very hard lately to get in shape and starting to see some progress. I am seriously considering going through the certification class and spending my summer focused on a potential career change. I already incorporate yoga into my daily lessons to keep students more focused and engaged, as well as just healthy and I really enjoy that part of my day.
So, looking for advice (and please be kind with your words): Is becoming a certified pilates instructor realistic for someone who only has basic skill level and is on the chubbier side? Or should I be focused on something else?
