Happy Sunday (or whatever day it may be for you)! I got my septum pierced a couple months ago and recently discovered the magical world of septum funk. While I’m relieved that my house doesn’t smell like I initially feared and can stop lighting candles everywhere after cleaning, I have a couple clarifications as a septum/piercing noobie

1. Using the search bar, I see people say they clean it in the shower? Should I be TAKING OUT my piercing and cleaning it? I keep it in when washing.

2. Perhaps I’ve been too lax on the initial aftercare from months ago. Will ramping up the regular cleaning do the trick?
