Newbie questions, worried and debating removing jewelry
Post Body

I have had my lobes pierced a total of 3 times including this last time (done on Sunday 3/24), 2 of them being when I was much much younger. I've also had a nostril piercing but it rejected pretty bad and I was nervous to pierce anything else after that until recently!

I have been itching to get my ears done, earrings are pretty and I'd love to stretch and yadda yadda yadda. Went to a parlor, got them pierced at 14g. My first red flag should have been the piercers choice in jewelry, they chose a straight barbell. I do have thicker lobes and they do sit at a bit of an angle so some jewelry just wouldn't work for me, I understand...but I am having HELL with the barbells. I have been attempting to get in touch with the piercer since Monday afternoon with no luck, they've gone completely MIA and their shop has been closed.

They catch on everything, they slide around when I sleep and cause me a lot of pain. They hurt constantly, usually hovering around 3/10 on the scale but if I clean them/bump them/etc they go to a 10 and slowly dwindle back down to the 3/10 area over the next few hours.

There is NO redness, hard to tell if there is swelling, there is only heat at the site after cleaning but it dies down to normal around 20-30minutes after cleaning. They are oozing a bit, doesn't look like pus though. A tiny bit greenish maybe?

I am using H2Ocean spray to clean them, twice a day. Spraying and using a swab to get crustyness off of the barbells in the morning and soaking the 2nd time.

I know that piercings hurt and I know the area stays sore for a while and I honestly might just be being a huge baby about it but I'm honestly in so much pain that I can't sleep well, even if I'm on my back with nothing touching my lobes :(

Any advice on pain management? Am I doing anything wrong? Is my best course of action to remove the jewelry, let heal and see a better piercer?
