Nipple piercing advice please!

I got my piercing yesterday and I was wondering if I should take more cautions than my piercer told me. He told me Bactine and unscented soap but on this sub I've seen tons more like salt water. Is there something else that I should do or is that enough? And what exactly is the salt water for? This is my first piercings so I want to do it right! I have barbells if that is gonna help anything.
