Piercer said I need to move my barbell back and forth?

Post Body

Hello! I have a one week old conch piercing that was done with a titanium barbell which I worry may be a little too long as it keeps getting bumped. I’ve been pierced at this shop before with no issues but that was a number of years ago.

Well the piercer made a point multiple times to make sure I move the barbell back and forth. I don’t really want to do that though because well it hurts and I’m concerned about introducing bacteria. I do twist with clean hands while I’m cleaning with Steri-Wash but that’s it. Is this bad advice or am I just unknowledgeable?

I’m only treating it with the Steri-Wash and water in the shower.
