I love my piercings, they are part of my skin at this point and I don’t ever see myself removing any of them. But for example today I started uni and for some reason felt so insecure, like they won’t take me seriously especially in a place that 'prepares' you for a more professional environment. When I’m conversing with someone older or more conservative I can just see their eyes turning to my face’s jewellery with a negative glance. It makes me feel kinda stupid. And it’s not like a have a lot of piercings either, a septum, a nostril, snake bites and the typical double lobe, but honestly sometimes I feel like an object that is just negatively observed. Maybe I’m being dramatic but I do live in a more conservative country as well, with a lot of more traditional cultures.
Do you ever feel insecure about your piercings? What do you do to feel better about it?
tbh they made me feel way more at home with myself, body mods do that for me in general (‘: it’s like cute little bionic character creation
