Stupid question I know. Do they check your tickets for general admission? Read description vvvv

I know it probably depends on venue but me and my friend couldn’t get GA tickets for some reason so we had to get one of the rows on the side. they obviously check to see your tickets at the arena but do they check at the actual seating areas? could you just walk into the pit/ general admission? What’s peoples experience? I’ve never been to a concert. I really want to be in the mosh pit. :(
