Yeah, and they're usually avoided.
After ten years in Lake George I'm guessing they went in October to some lake beach north of Cleveland.
EDIT: I mean Cleveland, Ohio as a latitude reference and not specifically geographical. But the girls styles do scream Yankee flapper.

My guess is a beach trip in the northern US or southern Canada in September or October when it gets noticeably colder. My guess is they're out checking out foliage and stopped at a lake beach.
