Your actual language says you know less about prison culture than when Michael Scott started talking about the dementors.

When you remove drug charges, family violence becomes one of the largest representations of prisoners, especially when weighted for people receiving large sentences (or life sentences).
Larry Nassar was killed because he was famous for what he did. There are literally countless people in prison, right now, for similar convictions (on smaller scales) who will never be harassed because of it.
County lockup is usually far worse than prison itself. Way too many people, even more understaffed, people who haven't accepted their fate and are still extremely emotionally unstable, people who are detoxing from drug habits, you name it.
Most convicts settle in and accept their new reality in prison, jail isn't the same way.
You've given no evidence they were involved other than just getting gifts.
How were they the architects?
Just being meek and awkward as fuck can make you an easy victim for low level bullying. Taking food, little things to punk him.
Really just depends. Sometimes they find an in group and just avoid drama, sometimes some asshole just doesn't like the way he looks or the sound of his voice and will make life just a little harder than it needs to be.
But no, he probably doesn't have classic "enemies" like movies would portray. Definitely wouldn't surprise me if a few people in there lost a bunch of money with him and have something to say about it though.
He's almost certainly got money stashed away / his parents could load up his commissary account and he could buy some friends if he was willing to tread into those waters.
Oh thank goodness I was worried about him
What makes them the architects though? You are just reading off of Linkedin.
Nothing Sam did was particularly complex.
Most people who've been in prison for an extended period of time have the same advice:
Mind your business, don't get money / food / drugs on credit, and don't let yourself become an easy victim.
Bankman... Never, ever, ever will spend 1 day in jail. If he does, he'll also end dead in there. But most probably never will see jail. The whole thing was perfectly orchestrated. Little curly sideburns rat will weasel himself out guaranteed and money loaded, they'll give him a new identity somewhere far away, could even fake his death.
Rikers is probably the only jail worse than MDC.
If you think MDC doesn't crack the top 10 shitholes, you are talking out of your ass.
MDC is substantially worse than 99% of prisons in the US.
It's fucking awful.
Redditors really don't understand how much worse jail is than prison.

This is one of the stereotypes that gets presented a lot.
Half the dudes in medium / max security prison are specifically there for violence toward women / kids.
