Improving extractions for lighter roasts
Post Body

Hello everyone, I've been using the pico for a couple of months now with generally good results (or so I believe). Being a fan of lighter roasts though, the results I can reach with those are generally inconsistent and lack in crema. I know that lighter roasts will produce less crema but on the other end there's also less pressure building up in the basket. If I go naked portafilter the stuff just sprays all over the place and often out of the cup - it's just runny no matter how much grinds I put. I just cannot reach a higher pressure.

I was wondering if anyone has any tips on how to improve the extraction for lighter roasts. I've been toying with multiple ideas: getting an extra shower screen (but that would mean I'd have to preheat that too), paper puck filters, or just practice acceptance that this is the best I can get to with all things considered.

Any hints/ideas would be appreciated!
