I've been self teaching for under a year and routinely do simple exercises that have definitely helped strengthen my hands and get more used to the keys, however I've noticed that when it comes to actually playing chords I instinctively do not use my pinky at all. I'm a bit worried this might develope into a habit that gets harder to break later on! I don't think my current basic hand exercises of going up and down the piano are helping, so my thinking is that learning some actually chords might casually force this habit on me.
Can anyone recommend some (preferably simple!) chord progressions that practically demand using that digit? Or any tips on dealing with this sort of thing is appreciated as well!
