I'm a 30 year old with no prior piano experience. I played trumpet up through high-school but otherwise haven't touched a musical instrument in 12 years.
I'd love to bring music back into my life and learn to play songs for fun and to give me a creative outlet.
From everything I've read, the recommended barrier for entry is a minimum of at least $500 for a weighted 88 keys digital piano. The price tag along with knowing how much practice is needed with my sonewhat limited schedule is intimidating.
I know that you're never too old to start learning and I've read several of the helpful FAQs but I could use some extra assurances that starting this journey will be with the overall investment even if I might not be able to put in the serious hours people here all recommend frequently.
Edit: Thank you for all the feedback! I was mostly decided already but hearing your anecdotes and encouragement helped clear some mental blocks. I ended up getting a Yamaha P71 and have begun learning the basics. I'll be looking into starting lessons as well. Thanks again for all the great input!
