Post Body

I started playing last year self taught. About 2 months ago i decided to finally get a teacher.

Now i play everyday and have been more consistent since i have weekly lessons.

My biggest problem right now is trying to figure out the best way to practice. I have my grade one piece that im working on. I have hanan exercises and also my adult piano book.

Often i am at work thinking about piano all day, but once i get home to practice im mentally drained. Im able to get an hour in but i have to force it and my practice routine is everywhere.

Yes i set alarms and try to do 15min warmups and 5 min sight reading and 30 min on the piece that im working on, but over all could use some tips for relaxation and mentally getting ready to practice, and also solidifying a good routine.
