Hi everyone! :) I'm a 31 year-old newcomer to the piano (2 weeks or so). I had always wanted to learn as a kid but we could never afford a piano/lessons, but now I can finally start living that dream.
I've been trying to learn how to read music and although I know the abbreviations used to remember treble and bass cleff and could identify the notes on a written test, when playing and trying to sight read it's incredibly difficult. I have to play very slow, with pauses, to figure out certain notes. I'm especially new to the bass cleff (started learning that a few days ago).
For those who have been playing for a while, how long did it take before you became comfortable with sight reading music? Is it something you still struggle with? Any tips for improving that skill?
