Hi everyone! I’m a pediatric PA-C in Southern California. Nice to meet you all 👋

Since therapy/counseling is rather inaccessible for the majority of my patients (wait time, not accepting new patients, not accepting insurance), I was looking to get certifications or do trainings to try and help bridge the gap. However, there’s a lot out there and I’m not sure where to start.

For those who did something similar, what did you do? Any training recommendations? I’m looking at trainings through the Beck Institute and PESI for CBT. CBT seems to be the best start for pediatrics and my patients’ concerns. I’d like to get trained in EMDR as well but that’s a long way off.

And out of pure curiosity, any opinion on going back to school for a degree in Social Work? No idea if that’s a viable path or not.

Thank you for your time!
