I’m a new grad outpatient PT that works a side job (you know salary doesn’t keep up with loans) coaching at a local gym on the weekend. Yesterday our workout included some bicep curls with a medicine ball as part of the warmup (10# medicine ball). A member waived me over and told me she needed a different exercise because her PT told her that lifting any weights in front of her body could cause a disc to herniate.

Obviously in a 45 minute class with 20 people I’m not going to sit down and dive into that belief but how do you separate out work outside of work
