Looking for alternative beach areas to visit instead of Phuket during storm

Hello, my friend and I are traveling around Asia and are supposed to head to Phuket from Jan 6-11. Really not the best timing with the storm coming in, and the main purpose of the Phuket part was to soak up some sun and head to the beach so that probably won’t happen there.

I’m wondering if anyone knows any alternative places in the area (doesn’t necessarily have to be in Thailand) that they would recommend and won’t be hit by the storm? Doesn’t have to be as big and bumping as Phuket apparently is, but any suggestions would be helpful!
