EDIT: I will slowly get to replies but man, some people messaging without reading in full. If I don't reply, you know why.
STOP! Please make sure you read the whole post so there aren't any misunderstandings. There is no tl;dr. If you don't want to read, then don't message.
As the title states, I am looking for an actual relationship, or at the very least someone I can bring to my brother's wedding next year. That said, I would like to emphasize the GEEKY part of the title. I have friends who have partners that are just as, if not, more geeky than they are, partners who aren't just bystanders but active participants in the geeky adventures. Understandably, I am envious, which brings me here.
BUT I would like to clarify something: I don't need you to be super active. I understand we're adults and we each have our own obligations, so i will understand if you're not always available to go adventuring, whether that's physically or mentally (please take care of yourselves, mental health is important). What matters more to me is we CAN adventure together, WHEN we can, and when we actually WANT to. The important thing here is avoiding the whole "oh he's just with the other geeks again" and being so confused about why I like the things I like. In other words, NOT LeonardxPenny from TBBT.
With that out of the way, what am I geeky about?
- Video games - probably the most prominent and where I spend a lot of my free time. My usual games consist of shooters, JRPGs, and one critically-acclaimed MMORPG with a free trial that includes the base game, two award-winning expansions, and gameplay up to level 70 with no restrictions on playtime. I've even got my own PC that I built and have upgraded over the years.
- Anime - Not as much as before but I do watch from time to time, and heavily influences my likes in terms of aesthetics. Still trying to catch up newer titles but currently trying to watch Frieren and MHA.
- Vtubers - No surprise, considering it's a mix of the above two and literally cute anime characters playing video games. Mostly a Holo fan, leaning back onto the Niji train a bit but not as much nowadays. My oshis are proudly displayed in fanarts I've shared on my profile (assuming I haven't deleted them yet from shitter).
What am I beyond just a geek? Well:
- Single since 2013, mostly by choice. I used the 10 years to learn to like myself more, at least to a point where I would consider myself "dateable" again (hence, why I'm here). Gotta learn that before you can love others, right?
- Above-average height-ish? I stand at 5 feet 7 inches (or 170cm tall, for those who prefer Freedom units), am middle height in my family, and probably not gonna get any taller.
- Location: QC, specifically Libis area, on the border of Pasig and Marikina, and nearest landmarks would be Eastwood City and Ortigas Avenue.
- 31 years old, born 1993, Taurus.
- Working for family as a property manager, trying to get a teaching license and Japanese language certification on the side.
- If it wasn't evident by now, fluent in English. I know SOME Tagalog but English is my most comfortable language.
- Semi-serious about fitness. I've been maintaining a routine and membership with a gym for the past year now in an effort to stay healthy, especially after stagnating for the past 4 years due to the pepperoni. I'm not a jock nor some gym rat, but I would appreciate if you were also health conscious. Bonus points if you're on your own journey and we can both gym together!
- ADHD, diagnosed but untreated. Not saying this to demand special attention, but more as a warning label so you know what you're getting into. My replies can and will be sporadic, mostly because my attention may have been grabbed by something else and I'm easily distracted, or my brain fizzles out and can't connect new/existing conversation points. Emotion regulation is also a bit of a challenge at times, but I will try to remain in control.
- Introverted. I don't like big parties or gatherings, and coupled with the aforementioned ADHD, I can get easily exhausted socially. I can handle smaller, more intimate groups/gatherings, though. That said, I will put that aside for special occasions like birthdays and the like, or events such as conventions related to my geeky interests, but big parties are NOT something I'd actively look for.
- Indoors type. With a few exceptions such as special occasions or the rare sudden curiosity takes over, I like doing indoors-y stuff. Movies in malls, chilling in games, watching anime together in Discord or IRL, playing boardgames, etc. There are some hard no's though, like extreme sports or camping.
That should be everything for now. If there's anything I missed, feel free to ask! I'm happy to answer questions as long as it's not already stated above. AND as proof you've read everything and we have somewhere to pivot from, message me with your details and your favorite quote from an anime or video game.
