When I was nine, I wanted to make books for kids. But for the longest time, life seemed to have other plans for me and although I became fairly successful at my career, I had all but given up on that silly little childhood ambition. However, a year ago, through a series of insane coincidences, I finally got to finish my first children’s picture book, and am now working on my second one. It’s definitely not a full-time thing for me, but it’s enough to make my nine-year-old self proud.
What did you dream of as a child that you ended up realizing in an unexpected way? Let’s talk about it.
(To set expectations: This is meant to be a quick, noncommittal, SFW convo since I have a boyfriend. Just looking to pass time.)
