I am absolutely sick of Photoshop taking all my system's memory even when it isn't doing anything. It has always done this, for years, and now I am at the point where I am going to have to find another program to use unless I can resolve it. I work on small files just editing text and only have one open at a time and everything is ok first thing in a morning but by lunchtime my system grinds to a halt because PS has allocated almost all of the memory to itself. This is frustrating beyond belief - why on earth is it doing this?

Occasionally, maybe once a day I need to perform a task where PS will need a lot of memory but today I haven't done that and PS is still holding over 17GB of memory. Why is it doing this and what can I do before I cancel my subscription?
Thank you.
