I know, not surprising. It's a hurdle not many of us can overcome. But it's time I I stepped out of mspaint and into using other peoples creative abilities to show off as my own! And that brings me to the problem.
eye are dumb. And the other problem, what is this black magic? Here is the setup:
I have a new .psd open. Black background. New text layer with three words. I would like to apply an effect I found on the creative cloud templates section. Some sort of inkygrunge job. So I download it, a .pstd file.
If I open it directly, it'll open its own document with two variants. Has the "edit me" text which after editing, does nothing. So I tried going over to my image, styles / import but that wants a .asl file, not my grubby .pstd.
About as far as I got. I know, farther than most.
All jokes aside, I know this is going to be something so painfully simple and obvious that I am probably going to pretend my elite script kiddies rooted my machine and posted that just to make me look bad. Fair warning.
And thanks for reading all this.
So of course it was something so obvious that I'm almost ashamed to admit it. I was double clicking just to the left of the part of the layer that has a small image. I assumed that entire field was a single area that opened to the same thing regardless of where. Newp. Where I would do it would just open the layer styling. Man, I have to train some people how to shot pew pews later. I think we're all pretty screwed. :P
