GNDs, Reverse GNDs, or multiple exposures?
Post Body

I haven't actually bought any GNDs yet, but I'm trying to learn some about them. This question has two parts, I guess: - Can you get away with just floating a GND filter halfway across your lens to get the same effect as a reverse GND, or is that likely to leave a noticeably line across the image? - Does using a GND/reverse GND really buy me anything compared to HDR or making a composite of multiple exposures, other than time? That is, I know part of the point of these filters is to get it right in the camera, but should I be able to get the same effect by using multiple exposures and then blending them in software?
