Olympus shooters: third-party flash recommendations?

I have an Olympus E-410, and it's really about time I got an off-camera flash. The actual Olympus-branded flashes seem unnecessarily overpriced though, particularly because I don't think I'll be needing much of the body-based automation that you need a first-party flash for. (As in, I'll mostly be using it in cases where I have time to play around and get the settings right if the camera can't tell the flash unit what to do directly.) Do any Olympus shooters have any recommendations for cheaper third-party flash units that will work fine?
