I'm thinking about taking up photography as a hobby, need some advice.

I am interested in photography, but am not sure wether or not the money is really worth it for me. I'm not sure I would be able to dedicate enough time. Also, I'm worried I would run out of things to shoot. Any words of advice / encouragement for me?

Also: I'm looking at cameras, and am on a pretty tight budget. I kinda settled on a Pentax K-x from B&H for $600 shipped and taxes included. Any opinions on the K-x or a better entry level DSLR? Money is a major factor.
