i want to get into B&W film....
Post Body

(please bear with me, i got a feeling this is gonna get long, i'll do a tl:dr if it is)

a little background first: i grew up playing with my dad's canon AE-1 but he never let me really get into it too much, just basic snap shots, never went into a darkroom, etc... which is understandable, i was just a snot nosed kid then :) fast forward years later, and i'm a photography nerd, but sadly just with digital(nikon D5000)...but still think about back then and wish i learned how to process my own film, and experimenting with different brands and types of film to find what i like.

so basicly whats making me write this post, i picked up a nikon n75 with the kit 28-80mm lens for a song the other day, havent got film for it yet, because i'm lost... kodak tmax? tri-x? ilford delta? hp5? or even these new fangled c-41 process B&W films... i doubt i'll ever do color with it, so i really dont see the need to go with the c-41 films.

i want to process the film myself, so is there a different chemical set with the different film types? is there a kit i can find online? i have the perfect closet to convert into a darkroom, and thinking about possibly finding an enlarger and going full circle... and on that note, resin coated paper? graded or multigraded paper?

i know people will tell me this is more trouble than its worth, but dammit, i want to say i can do it

another thing with the camera, i know the DX lenses arent ment for use with a 35mm camera, they'll darken the corners of the exposure, but how bad is it? i was planning on experimenting a little until i can troll around for some older lenses... i usually shoot daylight landscape/architecture, some sports, and every once in a while street candids, i'd like to get into professional style portraits while going through this process though

( holy tl:dr batman: kid grew up playing with film camera, now regrets never learning the B&W film process and he's lost and confused. )
