Help me take more focused (and better) food pictures w/ my Sony RX100 ver. IV
Post Body

hey there, I shoot almost nothing but food I eat. These are shots in restaurants (or my kitchen) and in all sorts of lighting conditions. The one constant is that they are general close(ish) shots. I tend to switch back and forth between Automatic and Aperture mode but i really want to start pushing my photography.

My main problem is that i can't seem to get great focus consistently - sure i know how to use the lock-on autofocus but it just doesn't seem to be consistently effective ... especially when i shoot in aperture ... i would like to know how to effectively shot "macro" in this setting. I'm sure there are other problems too - so if you want to point out anything - please do. Do you have any advice? While most of my photos get edited, i do post them all to instagram. Not sure if it's kosher to post the direct link but i'm pretty sure you can figure out what my instagram name is ;-).

Thanks /r/Photography
