I was doing a still shoot with my vehicle outside and couldn't get the clouds in the photo due to over exposure. I took my galaxy S20 Ultra and opened the camera app and it showed beautifully in the phone's gallery, I'm assuming due to the phone's image processing. So I ended up using the photos from my phone for the shoot. In the end, it made me do research on overexposed skies and cloud photography. I came across ND filters and different kinds. I noticed there are ND filters, graduated ND filters, and Variable ND filters. I'm aiming towards a gradulated ND filter so I can have the sky nicely exposed and the vehicle (lower half of the image) clear. Would this kind of filter be recommended for automotive photography? Or does it make more sense to get a Variable ND filter to have overall control of the entire image?
Thanks in advance.
