Seeing post here, and i’m glad its normal to experience culture shock and feeling of wanting to go home despite the money being earn or quality of life. I will soon be migrating to the USA for good, being a green-card since 2012, being petition by my moms sister. Finished nursing 2016 but decided to go to Medicine here in the PH. Just this year i found out i wanna be a nurse in the USA given my mother and brother already a US Citizen, only me and my dad are one on GC, those days being out almost 2 years, being detained in the immigration in LA. With this subreddit, I’m not alone, scared with driving (nasanay na kasi sa commute), scared on the possible racist people, scared or awkward mag english and making a conversation with an American. I’ve realized I’m not alone, and reading your comments to our fellow OFW makes me happy. I wish us Happiness and find meaning in our OFW life, find the life we always wanted. I love the the Philippine, excluding the government but, this is where i was raise, i was born, and all my first time experiences in life. Definitely going dual after few years. Kinda pressure sa PLE, whether pass or fail, i won’t have a chance retaking it since ill be going to America after the boards which make me nervous and pressured. Hope we all rich our goals in life.
