I’ve always found it strangely natural to strike up a conversation, even with strangers—an effortless ease that sometimes surprises even me. It reminds me of the time I spoke with a painter's brother during an exhibit of her oeuvre. What started as a simple question turned into a deep conversation about the painter’s life and inspirations. By the time I circled back to the paintings, they felt entirely new, as if I were seeing them through the artist’s own eyes.
I used to be an occasional smoker; cigarettes became a clumsy excuse to edge into a circle, to overcome my own awkwardness and make conversation flow. Looking back, I’ve learned that it’s not the smoke or the setting—it’s the desire to connect, to share, to be part of something bigger.
And so, here I am. No more awkward cigarettes, but still craving those moments where the world slows down, and it’s just you and me in a shared story. Maybe that story begins here. Maybe this is our chance encounter.
If this resonates, if you’ve ever found beauty in the little quirks of life, I’d love to hear from you. Let’s make the kind of memories that don’t need an excuse to linger.
