I just noticed with SOME Filipinos, probably instilled in our culture (?), that it's challenging to assert your opinion no matter how diplomatic you are. Now this is not all about LGBTQ , but everyone in all walks of life where you share your opinion, rather than listen and respond diplomatically as well, it's combated with insults and name calling already without actually seeing and listening. You see this on both sides, it doesn't matter where you lean in your political beliefs.
For example, I saw on a subreddit that someone prefers to travel internationally than locally, all of a sudden there are negative comments like "pa sosyal" or even "privilege". When I read the post of OP, they made really good points that travelling here is expensive unlike travelling internationally, also the heat.
Possibly because our culture here, being a predominantly Catholic and Christian country is a factor? I'm not against any religion, but we can admit that some are very aggressive with their approach, and they are the ones who instilled absolutism and hive mentality.
I'm all eyes and ears to hear your opinions and thoughts about this ✨️
